Today is my Friday as i'm trading in my office view for sunset views of the Arizona desert!! We're going down with my ma' n' pa, and I'm so looking forward to soaking in that warm desert sun, hitting all the vintage shops, wandering through the streets Scottsdale and enjoying some wicked food and bevi's! 🌵☀️ #VacayModeOn

"What made you want to become a wedding planner + designer Joelle?"

I've always been a bit of a "wild child" as my mom would say lol. In a world of tradition, flipping norms on their heads and bee-lining it down an unknown path is much more my speed.

Becoming a wedding planner wasn't about having the sexy, stereotypical company ran by a buncha white chicks with pretty clipboards and headsets. And it's definitely more than a white dress and a beautiful bouquet to me. So damn much more than that.

My purpose in this world is to inject some serious joy into life's big moments, giving couples and their families the badass celebrations they deserve. It's kinda ironic—I thrive in super challenging situations, where most would struggle. Being resourceful? Second nature. And when creativity strikes, my brain grabs a whole new gear and runs free. You can see how this all kinda works out well for me hey??

I became a wedding designer + planner because I so enjoy people, I wanted the opportunity to create for others and be the one person people can come to when any issue arises. I was born for this career. Seriously. I get chicken skin thinking about it because it has been nothing short of a blessing to have a career that feeds into so many different passions of mine.

So...THIS is what made me choose the digs of being a wedding designer + planner 💁🏼‍♀️

Fun fact: Cam is a twin and his brother’s name is Darren! He’s not huge on birthdays (unlike me 🤣) so every year going into his birthday I ask him “dude, what do you wanna do for your birthday?!” And every year he says “How about we go to Darren’s birthday party!” 😂

To all you grooms in the Edmonton area, there's a new kid on the block called @parlourbarba and you are DEFINITELY going to need to pay them a visit to get groomed before your big day.

Our grooms have LOVED getting a wedding day chop there. What isn't to love about having an Old Fashioned, getting a beard trim and a haircut in a boujee AF speakeasy setting...enough said. They're located on High Street here in the city, hit em' up fellas 🤙🏼

Pro tip: do the cake cut during dinner service!

Very rarely do our couples make a "big moment" out of cutting their cake. They just want the photos of doing so together and to move on with their night.

We typically cut the cake about 30 - 40 minutes into dinner service or after the couple has finished their main course and it flows perfectly! 👌🏼
