I spent the weekend out at the cabin and am back h

I spent the weekend out at the cabin and am back home jumping into my office for a quick work week here! I’m heading to Canmore on Thursday to speak to all the photographer attendees at the @ebcollective workshop about what it's like for photographers to work with a wedding planner at a clients wedding!

I’m pumped for this convo because things can be so different (in a really good way!) compared to them working a wedding without one. We’re talking everything from the best ways to communicate with a planner team on-site, to how photographers can leverage the hell out of their work—because spoiler alert: we use their photos as marketing every single day (!!). And ngl, reallllllll excited to see those beauty mountains too 😉

Our 2025 wedding season has OFFICIALLY begun!!

At the start of every season, I feel two things: pure excitement and a big ol’ wave of butterflies. I fully understand the responsibility of producing my clients’ weddings—and the weight of what this day means to them. It’s kind of like bungee jumping: you’re standing at the edge, nerves buzzing, anticipation sky high… but the moment you leap, it’s a free fall into something thrilling and unforgettable.

This summer, I get to see some of my past couples again at new weddings (the best kind of reunion!), I get to team up with my incredible vendor fam on site, and most importantly—I get to do what I love 🤘🏼

A trip with the Tripp’s…HA!

Pun’s aside 😏 this last week Cam and I spent in Mexico was *exhale* so needed. Outside of our honeymoon 7 years ago and one other vacay, this was the only other trip we’ve taken solo together.

We didn’t do a single excursion.
I got a single beach buzz and that’s it.
I finished a book.
I played beach volleyball almost every morning.
We met so many people.
And most importantly, I stayed off social and spent a total of 3 “surfing hours” on my phone over the ENTIRE WEEK 😳💃

For the first time in a long time, we came home feeling so rested and refreshed with a rockin’ tan and hot DAYUMM it feels gooooood! ✌🏼

This is what our couples say and we couldn't agree with them more! And we can't even begin to imagine how much more intense it would feel if they didn't have us with them on their wedding day--ooof!

If we could slow down Father Time for a couples wedding we ABSOLUTELY WOULD, but alas, we can not. BUT! There are a few ways that we work with our couples to make every moment count which are:

🕰️ Curating a timeline that has an "eezy breezy" feel to it versus "a kid with a crayon" kind of vibe. It helps give structure to the day and lets us figure out where the little pockets of time exist so that we can send couples on their way to have a few moments alone together!

🕰️ When our couples list of things to do become lengthy, we say "pick your top 3" and roll from there. We love fun trends, family wedding traditions and all the photo moments but if they try and cram in too many, couples rob themselves of any chance they have to be present on their wedding day.

🕰️ If there's extra time in the timeline, leave it be! We've seen it where there's an extra hour free and though the impulse would be to designate it for something...sometimes it's better left as simply "free time" for the couple. What a concept right?!
